Nutrition-focused cooking classes

Need some help in the kitchen?

Simply Nutrition, aka Paula Antonini, will be doing a lot of nutrition-focused cooking classes in August 2011, just in time to prepare people for the return-to-normal (i.e. start of school) times when having a routine is extremely helpful.

Some classes will be held at H2M health food store in Georgetown, Ky. Register for those classes by calling the store at 502-370-4353.

Other classes will be held at The Wholesome Chef at 507 E. High Street in Lexington. Register for The Wholesome Chef classes online (details below).

Aug 6, 1:30 p.m.
Cooking class at H2M in Georgetown: Double Your Energy in Just 7 Days! This will be the first cooking class at H2M and it is not to be missed! Learn the principles of eating high-energy foods plus 3 simple high-energy recipes.

Aug 9, 6:30 p.m.
The Wholesome Chef: Power Breakfasts Improve Performance at School and Work. Help your kids stay focused and work with a clear mind throughout the school day by giving them a nutrient-dense, yummy breakfast every morning. (And treat yourself to it as well!)

Aug 13, 1:30 p.m.
The Wholesome Chef: Preparing Meals for the Anti-inflammatory Diet. Inflammation has been recognized as the root of most chronic disease, and frequently accumulates over many years before disease manifests. Learn how to prepare meals that are chock full of anti-inflammatory foods to turn that tide.

Aug 15, 6:30 p.m.:
The Wholesome Chef: Kick Those Extra Pounds to the Curb! Get some simple and quick recipes that can kick-start your weight loss while learning 7 simple and effective ‘kick-it tips’ to get rid of those extra pounds forever.

H2M: Cooking with Whole Grains
Whole grains aren’t just about choosing the right loaf of bread. Discover some wonderful and simple ways to include them in your diet on a regular basis.

Aug 20, 10:30 a.m.
H2M: Making Veggies your BFF
Not so familiar with dark green leafy vegetables? Figure french fries and catsup are 2 good veggies you have often? Then come and discover the rainbow of other vegetables you can fall in love with when you learn how to prepare them in interesting ways.

Aug 22, 6:30 p.m.
